Well, MacHeist has just revealed their newest bundle of software, MacHeist 3, and we’re proud to announce that SousChef 1.1 is a part of it! If you’re not familiar with MacHeist, we definitely suggest checking it out – it’s an awesome deal for any Mac user. You can purchase a bunch of the best Mac apps out there for a fraction of what you’d pay individually.
But that’s not the only important news. This latest version of SousChef offers some major new features and some equally important minor ones. First of all, SousChef will now generate grocery lists from any recipe. This was one of the most-requested features from our users, and we’re really happy that we can bring it to you. The grocery list function also supports customized lists – you can add more items to an existing list, or create one from scratch instead of from a recipe.
It is also now possible to import an entire MacGourmet library into SousChef in one step! The Import menu now gives you the option to “Import MacGourmet Database.”
Version 1.1 also has improved conversions, stronger unicode support, and other improvements throughout the application. As always, check out our Support section for help with using new and old feature of SousChef!
Looks great, but it’s currently unusable for me because, as your help file notes, metric is not supported.

When I try to update my (paid!) version of Sous Chef, I get a message saying I’m up-to-date with version 1.0.3. Is 1.1 only available via MacHeist? Because I really don’t want to have to buy the software *again* just to get the update.

I’ve been wanting Sous Chef for months, and the MacHeist deal pushed me over the edge. I’m very excited to start using it.
I love the grocery list feature. I’m stumped by one thing though. I have the ability to check items, identifying them as things I already have (separate from my always have list), but when I print the grocery list, these checked items are still included. What am I missing?
