It’s been 24 hours since the MacHeist reveal, and the recipe cloud has already jumped to over 12,000 recipes – at the time of the reveal yesterday, there were only about 8,400! According to MacHeist.com, over 18,000 bundles have been sold so far, which means that over $150,000 has been raised for charity. And there are still 13 days to go!
We’ve been hearing from a lot of users about features they’d like to see in SousChef, especially metric support and general international compatibility. We read every e-mail and take all feedback into consideration. Metric support and an iPhone app are at the top of our list. We’re taking our time so that the future versions of SousChef are something you can fully enjoy – and something we can be proud of. But by all means, keep the suggestions coming! Send any ideas for features you would (or wouldn’t) like to from this knowledge-base article.
Keep on importing!

Totally glad metric is coming to SousChef. Like many others have commented on MacHeist forum, this is a must for me to use it.
Please make it fast. :)
metric support would be great :) if you’re planning to release transalted versions, just send me an email for a german one. i’m not yet a mac developer but have quite a good knowledge of windows/linux developing (c#, java, php, …). aand: i want do start to code on the mac ;)
best wishes from vienna,

I just purchased Souschef through the MacHeist bundle and I am blown away. What a great concept with a clean intuitive interface which compliments and effectively makes uses of what the Mac OS has to offer.
I have been a dedicated Mac user for 23 years and just recently completed courses in Cocoa and iPhone development. Cooking is a new found hobby of mine.
This application truely is an inspiration for both!
Keep up the good work Acacia Tree.
How can you check if your recipe has appeared in the cloud? When I search, it only pops up locally.
Maria: Recipes are only listed in one place. If a recipe is found in the cloud and in your local recipes it will only be listed in the local section. Unless a recipe is malformed (e.g. doesn’t have any ingredients, directions, etc.), has been flagged to not be shared, or you don’t have internet, it will be automatically uploaded to the cloud the next time SousChef starts up. However SousChef may upload the recipe sooner if it isn’t doing anything else.
I agree with the metric comments too. I installed the app with excitement today, and it looks great but was so disappointed to find it wasn’t metric. It’s very cumbersome trying to convert from lbs to mg on another website! If you can speed up the metric process I think you would make a lot of people very happy.
+1 for metric from me too, apart from that looks like a really great app!
Also want to put a vote in for metric support. It looks like a nice app that has a lot of potential.
+1 for metric
and it would be nice for the next releases to have a system of “sub recipe”, for those recipe which they demand a preparation of the ingredients before cooking all
I hope that you understand what I have written :)
thanks
Heya,
Any word on the metric support? Been a while since 1.1 :/

Reza
Look for news in the coming week! Also, follow us on twitter and get updates on what’s happening (there have been some recent tweets about metric support).
I’d like to be notified if you release an iPhone version that can sync with the Mac version. Be great for checking recipe ingredients while at the grocery store.
